Camille TuckerCamille Tucker

A graduate of UCLA with a degree in English/Creative Writing, Camille entered the Entertainment Industry as a runner at Walt Disney Studios.  In 1992, along with former writing and producing partner, Kim Greene-Williams, Camille co-wrote/produced “Sweet Potato Ride,” a short film Executive Produced by Bill Duke (PREDATOR, DEEP COVER, SISTER ACT II).

Subsequently, this short launched Camille into what some might call a “Cinderella Tale.”  Meeting Robert De Niro at a party, Camille’s five minutes of gab lead to the sell of her first screenplay to Sony Studios, with De Niro as producer.  Not bad, for a former Disney secretary and creative assistant.

During their partnership, Camille and Kim sold four screenplays: M'LADY-- an African American twist on My Fair Lady-- sold to SONY STUDIOS with Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal producing; GOLDDIGGAZ sold to UNIVERSAL PICTURES with John Singleton producing; THE UNDERGROUND sold to UNIVERSAL PICTURES; and TV Pilot THE SODA GIRLS sold to 20th CENTURY FOX TV.  They were also hired to adapt the book HOW TO MARRY A BLACK MAN for TOUCHSTONE PICTURES with Whitney Houston and Debra Martin Chase producing.
After a successful seven-year partnership, Camille flew solo, landing at Intermedia Films, where she read and wrote coverage for tons of scripts.  At Humble Journey Films, the production company of Eriq La Salle, Dr. Benton from NBC’s Emmy-winning drama, ER, Camille served as Director of Development.  She brought the romantic comedy, LOVING NATALIE, to Mr. La Salle and he became attached to produce and direct.  They sold it to NEW LINE CINEMA (“Lord of the Rings”), where Camille was hired to do the re-write.

Segueing into brand new territory, Camille worked at Hispanic TV network Azteca American for four years, where, as Senior Copywriter, she excelled in many different forms of writing, including: ad copy for TV, radio spots, outdoor and consumer and trade print, as well as press releases, program synopses, program books, talent books, corporate bios, and the copy for TV sales demos.

Camille brings 17 years of experience as a professional writer and entertainment industry executive to her role as President of Production of Pneuma Entertainment and head writing consultant at The ScriptRighter.  Pneuma recently finished touring the film festival circuit with the award winning short, "SPIN," which Camille co-wrote and produced.  As a freelance writer, Camille has just completed a coloring book, a comic book and a screenwriting job.  Currently, she is writing the script for an awards show and is set to begin an online screenwriting class, even as she is one year away from completing her master’s degree.  This fall, Camille will also be teaching storytelling and filmmaking to at-risk students at the Harambee School in North Pasadena, CA.
